Merced Residents Invited to Serve on City Boards and Commissions
Merced, Calif – The City of Merced invites interested community members to participate in the process of City Government by serving on one of several Boards and Commissions. All positions are voluntary, and the City Council appoints most. The time commitment for each board or commission varies, with some meeting on a regular schedule and others on an as-needed basis. There may be additional time commitments for pre-meeting preparation, subcommittee, or special meeting attendance. Applicants must live within the City of Merced and cannot be City staff. Terms are four years with the option to be reappointed. Attendance at regularly scheduled meetings is crucial. All meetings are open to the public, and copies of meeting agendas are available at least 72 hours prior to a regularly scheduled meeting.

Arts and Culture Advisory Commission
Building and Housing Board of Appeals

- Applicants should be registered or licensed professionals in the trade, design, engineering, construction, or inspection of buildings.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission
Planning Commission
Recreation and Parks Commission
Tax Transparency Commission
