The City of Merced Building Division is excited to announce the launch of the City's new online permit, plan management and inspection system:
Features Include
- Apply for all building permits, including uploading plans and documents
- Paying Fees
- Tracking permit, plan review and inspection status
- Permit issuance
- Scheduling building permit inspections
New User Account
- Prior to applying for a permit, a user account must be created.
- CONTRACTORS: Must have a Contractor's City of Merced Business License in place prior to applying for a permit: BLInquiry@cityofmerced.org
Contractor's SHALL CREATE ONE City of Merced Civic Access User Account, using:
(1) EMAIL ADDRESS
(1) PASSWORD FOR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS:
- Applying for and updating their Contractor's City of Merced Business License
- Applying for permits
- Making payments
- Uploading plans or documents
- Scheduling inspections
- Viewing details for permit, plan review and inspection status and results

Online Permit Service Center FAQ's
- Can I view details about a permit, plan review or inspections without an account?
Yes, go to our City of Merced Civic Access page Public Information
- Pick "Permit" from "Search" drop down.
- In the "Search public records with keywords or address" section, type the address or permit number.
- Click on the "Permit Number" to view details for a specific permit.
- What do I do if I have an issued building permit?
Calling in your inspections using our IVR system (209) 723-2489 will remain the same. Inspection results can be found on our website:

- What do I do if I am in Plan review?
The Plan review process will remain the same until the conclusion of the review and plans are approved. You will be guided by staff for the next steps for permit issuance.
- What do I do if I have revisions or deferrals to Plans approved prior to the new system?
The process for submitting Deferrals or Revisions to Approved plans remains the same, use the Narrative Form and submit to our old portal: merced.seamlessdocs.com/f/LFTInspectionServicesWeb.
- What do I do if I have a permit ready to be issued and plans are approved?
