The Yellow Brick Road leads to Movies in the Park tonight
Hey everybody, follow the Yellow Brick Road to Merino Park tonight, Pacific and El Redondo, to watch "The Wizard of Oz.'
It's another one of the Parks and Recreation Department's Movies in the Park. You won't be in Kansas anymore as Dorothy and Toto embark on an adventure filled with wicked witches, flying monkeys and (spoiler alert) a house that lands on earth at just the right time.
With her trusted companions (really?), a Cowardly Lion, a Tin Man and a Scarecrow, Dorothy learns about life outside the farm, her inner self, and how to sing while skipping through fields and towns. Dorothy also learns an important life lesson: it is always best to pay attention to the National Weather Service storm alerts.
Bring a blanket, your family or friends and enjoy a night of entertainment. There are even some pre-movie festivities planned.
BTW, there are no tornado alerts in the local forecast for tonight.
Movies start at dusk, which follows the 8:26 p.m. sunset tonight.
This year's lineup is:
SING, July 14, Stephen Leonard Park, 640 T St.
Finding Dory, July 28, El Capitan High Pool, 100 Farmland. (Yes, a Movie in the Pool, not the park!)
Lego Batman, Aug. 4, McNamara Park, 1040 Canal St.
