State of the City address Friday

The State of the City will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at the Merced Theatre, 301 W. Main St.

The address by Merced Mayor Mike Murphy and Greater Chamber of Commerce Chairman Robert Dylina will cover some of last year's highlights and what's ahead in 2017.

Among the topics to be covered are economic development projects, public safety issues, transportation and homelessness.
